UFC Is Not Coming Home Anymore

Just when it looked like the UFC would finally return to England, the unfortunate news struck once again, as London won’t be hosting upcoming UFC fights in the event of September 4 anymore due to COVID restrictions.

Las Vegas is the new venue chosen by the organization, and this sudden change not only affected fans and the event per se, but also, a fighter, who won’t be able to be traveling to the US for Visa reasons.

Apart from this curious and disgraceful fact, the UFC fight schedule in this event will present some blockbuster fights such as:

  1. Darren Till vs. Derek Brunson
  2. Alexander Gustafsson vs. Paul Craig
  3. Rafael Alves vs. Marc Diakiese

We’ve teamed up with Kate Richardson, who’s a UFC expert, and taking her acknowledgment on the topic to its maximum, we’ve come out with this informative yet funny piece of text. In order to thank her for the amazing job performed, we’ll be making her profile available here, so that you can get to know her better and wait for more info like this!

So, without further ado, let’s get to know a little bit more about the Las Vegas event!

Unlucky Santos

Brazilian female fighter Taila Santos will not be fighting against German rising star Mandy Bohm anymore and the reason is something no one would have guessed right.

As the event was set to be held in London, the Brazil fighter wouldn’t be finding any problems in immigration, as the UK exempts Brazilian citizens from visa appliances, which is not the case with the US. The worst part is that apparently, American embassies in Brazil are not operating due to the pandemic, making it impossible for Santos to get her visa in time and get to fight Bohm.

Who’s Bohm’s New Opponent, Then?

It’s Taila Santos’ countrywoman, Ariane Lipski, also known as “the Queen of Violence”. A brutal name for such a sweet lady, isn’t it?

The fact is that Mandy Bohm will have to adjust her tactics to a new opponent five weeks before her UFC debut. For Bohm, it is the third change in the schedule. She was originally scheduled to make her UFC debut in Las Vegas on August 14th.

However, the UFC planned a fight night in London for the beginning of September, postponed upcoming UFC fights with European participation accordingly, so that she now also got three weeks more preparation time.

Her opponent, the “Queen of Violence” has so far fallen well short of expectations in the UFC. As the reigning KSW title holder switched to the UFC, the 27-year-old has only won two out of six fights and was stopped in her last two duels by Montana de la Rosa and Antonina Shevchenko in the second round. Lipski has her back to the wall against the undefeated Bohm.

What to Expect from Lipski

Ariane Lipski will return to the octagon of the largest MMA organization in the world this September. For Lipski (13-7 MMA) in the last fight, she had to recognize the superiority of Montana De La Rosa, with whom she lost via KO / TKO.

It was her second consecutive loss by KO / TKO. She returned to UFC Vegas 28 after defeating the sister of flyweight dominator Antonina Shevchenko.

Her record in the last 4 fights is 2-2 and overall in UFC 2-4. 9 of the 13 victories in her career, “Queen of Violence” won finishing rivals ahead of time. Before her performance at UFC 255, she won two matches in a row and received a gala bonus for her performance with Luana Carolina.

Bohm’s Impressive Stats

Bohm (7-0, 1 NC MMA) is undefeated in her professional MMA career and could be soon among the UFC champions. In 4 of her 7 wins, the competitor finished her rivals ahead of time. She is preparing for the fights at SBG Ireland.

The fight will take place at UFC Vegas 36 on September 4 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The highlight of the evening will be the clash between Darren Till and Derek Brunson of the top two middle-class players.

Till vs Brunson

After negotiating the fight between Paulo Borrachinha and Jared Cannonier, the Ultimate also confirmed another important fight for the one of the UFC weight classes, the middleweight division. Recovered from the back injury that took him out of the duel against Marvin Vettori, Darren Till faces Derek Brunson,

At 28, Darren Till currently ranks sixth in the Ultimate Middleweight ranking. The Englishman, however, is coming off a unanimous decision defeat by the judges against Robert Whittaker in a close match at UFC 3, which occurred in July 2020.

Coming from a streak of four straight wins, Derek Brunson, 37, has consolidated himself among the best in the category by dominating Kevin Holland in the main event of UFC Las Vegas 22. Fifth in the ranking, the fighter has a record of 22 wins and seven defeats in his career.
